Rev. David W. Peck
David came to Lancaster in 2008 after serving the Archbishop of Canterbury in Lambeth Palace as his Secretary for International Development. His interest in justice and peace issues continue while he develops new horizons in the parish for education and contemplative prayer. He recently completed sabbatical studies on Mercy in Jerusalem and The West Bank and in 2013 completed a 30-day silent Ignatian retreat at the Jesuit Center in Wernersville, PA. He is married to Dr. Cordelia Moyse and they rejoice in their daughter, Theodora.
Rev. Robert Schoeck
Rob serves the parish as the Associate Rector and oversees worship, membership, formation, and mission through collaborative leadership with volunteer-led committees. He is a Spiritual Director and is the facilitator of the 11th Step Christian Meditation Group for those who are seeking spiritual growth as part of their recovery. Father Rob graduated from Lesley University (Cambridge, MA) with a BS in Human Services and a M.Div from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific (Berkeley, CA). He was ordained to the priesthood in 2014 and is originally from the Boston area. He is passionate about pilgrimages and how they form us in walking the way of Jesus. When not on campus, he enjoys spending his time with his wife Rev. Lauren as they continue to explore the beauty and breadth of Lancaster and Central Pennsylvania.
Rev. Lauren Schoeck
Associate for Congregational Care
Rev. Lauren serves in a variety of ways at Saint James including baptism and marriage preparation, leading services at Willow Valley and Moravian Manor, serving as chaplain to the Daughters of the King, and assisting with youth group. Rev. Lauren has her BA in Elementary Education from Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ) and her M.Div from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific (Berkeley, CA). She was ordained to the priesthood in 2012 and has served parishes in the Dioceses of Arizona and California before moving to the Diocese of Central Pennsylvania. Her favorite activities include hanging out with her husband Fr. Rob and their bulldogs, watching movies, singing, playing board games, and talking with her family on the west coast.
Minister of Giving and Communications
Nicolette joined the staff in 2015 as Minister of Engagement and Giving. She works with members of Saint James across the whole giving spectrum of time, talent and treasure, as they find their ministries in the life of the church and within the broader community. A graduate of the University of Virginia, she has held key marketing, fundraising and management roles in the arts and education. Nicolette is a lifelong Episcopalian and church musician. She is married to Brad and the mother of 3 adult children and a middle schooler. In her spare time, she plays the piano and flute, enjoys studying foreign languages and researching the history of Saint James.
Dr. William Wright
Director of Music
Dr. William Wright has over twenty years of experience as a conductor, choral trainer, organist and pianist. In addition to his work at F&M (where he will continue as Director of Choral Music), the Lancaster Symphony and Harvard University summer school, he has a broad background as a professional church musician and feels a strong calling to serve God in the church. Bill has participated in a number of our musical projects over the years, is known to many in the choir and is looking forward to bringing his considerable background and deep community ties to work at Saint James.
Director of Contemporary Music and Worship Technology
Chris brings two decades of experience as a guitarist, teacher, singer, recording engineer and performer in the mega church and musical theater settings to Saint James. He has been a regular in the Duke Street Band and has led several Saturday night masses. Inspired by our innovative programming and investment in technology like Livestream, he will draw on his extensive background to continue to provide excellent worship leadership and explore new 21stcentury modes of outreach at Saint James.
Alyssa Pasternak Post
Director of Children, Youth & Family Ministries
Alyssa Pasternak Post coordinates children, youth and family ministries. She holds theology degrees from the University of Dayton (MA in Theological Studies) and from Wheeling Jesuit University (BA in Theology). Post-college she served in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, taught in Catholic high schools, ministered in multiple parishes, and facilitated e-formation courses. Alyssa moved to Lancaster in the summer of 2016 and enjoys exploring the new landscape with her husband Jeff and their two young daughters. She credits her Appalachian roots as formative in her hopes to parent from a place of justice and deep spirituality.
Executive Assistant and Formation Team Coordinator
Kristle (Kristi) assists Fr. David and the staff team in parish planning and communications. She graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Psychology and from East Carolina University with a MAEd. in Special Education. After spending twenty-three years in the field of special education in North Carolina and Lancaster County as a teacher, consultant, and director of special education, Kristi served as director of human resources and communications until her retirement in 2013. Kristi is the current President of the parish’s chapter of Daughters of the King. She lives in Lititz with her husband, Whit, and their two dogs, Beau and Kenan.
Associate for Contemplative Prayer & Practices
Kimberlee helps people discover how their faith and prayers can “move from the head to the heart." She is in touch with a range of spiritual directors and retreat opportunities that can encourage parishioners in their own spiritual journey. Kimberlee completed her spiritual direction training through Ashland Theological Seminary and works part-time at Kavanna House Spiritual Formation Center in York, Pa. She received her BS and MS degrees in Kinesiology and Health Education from Penn State University. She loves to do yoga, be outdoors, read, knit, as well as practice being present in the mundane of cooking, cleaning and laundry.
Pastoral Care Coordinator
Debbie has been an active parishioner at Saint James Episcopal Church since she and her family became members in 1995. Debbie is currently on staff as the Pastoral Care Coordinator and serves as a Eucharistic Visitor, Eucharistic Minister, Intercessor, Verger, and is a member of the Daughters of the King. Debbie holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, specializing in Early Childhood Education. A recent “empty-nester”, Debbie lives in Landisville with her husband Joe. They have two daughters, Carlie and Danielle (deceased in 2002).
Karen has worked at Saint James since 2005 and helps the whole parish and staff team keep all the administrative plates spinning from a ministry of welcome and communication to producing with a volunteer team all of our service bulletins. She has an Associate Degree in Specialized Business from the Executive Secretarial program at Central Pennsylvania College. She is an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, as well as being active at Saint James. She enjoys various crafts, including crochet and knitting. She resides in West Lampeter Township with her husband, Russ, her two Jack Russells (Cleo and Pyper), and three cats.
